I went to my first writer’s conference last week. Along with learning how many ways I can produce higher quality writing, I was awarded third place in the two contest categories I entered. In Flash Fiction, I entered ‘A Day in the Life of the Dying.’ In Novel Beginnings, I entered ‘The (Re)Making of Elias Birdsong.’ I also met an industry professional who thought my devotionals and the novel might have the legs to make it to publication if I will put in the work. Scary and exciting stuff for the aspiring writer.
